Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1017; 03:50PM; 22100 W Victory Bl; http://bit.ly/390Pa4N; Woodland Hills; LAFD quickly navigated the large apartment complex to locate fire in just one 3rd-floor unit kitchen, where hose lines were pulled up with "drop bag" ropes to access the above-ground location. 35 firefighters extinguished the flames in 23 minutes, confining the damage to the kitchen only. Vertical ventilation crews used restraint and did not cause any damage to the roof, when hearing of the nature of the fire below. There is residual smoke in the unit and in the 3rd floor hallway, which will be removed systematically with LAFD blowers. Minimal overhaul needed. No reported injuries. Update Jumper; INC#1207; 07:40AM; 6801 W Hollywood Bl; http://bit.ly/2vAmyRj; Hollywood; In front of the site of the 2020 Academy Awards (Oscars), LAFD supported LAPD crisis negotiators, who made attempts to bring the man down without force for over 9 hours. It became clear that the individual had no intentions of coming down, and instead of continuing all of the attention, the decision was made to tactically withdraw and allow the man to stay up there. Shortly after 2 A.M., LAFD packed up all of their equipment (ladders, and rescue air cushions) and cleared the incident. As of the time of this alert, the man remains approx 30 feet above the Hollywood Blvd sidewalk on scaffolding set up for the upcoming awards event.
